Our clients wanted to open a new bar in the location of an existing run down ‘old mans pub’. The layout was difficult and it was hard to imagine it being anything other than what it had been for 50 years. The key to resolving the difficult shape was the positioning of the bar and kitchen.

We worked with the original founders of the Portershed: Michael Fizgerald of One Page CRM and Paul Killoran of Exordo who approached us with a vision to convert a building at galway train station that was full of offices into an open plan shared workspace and hub for startups. Climbing into the attic we discovered the old beams that had been hidden for 50 years and we created a design that revealed the original fabric while providing construction and insulation detailing to allow it to function as a comfortable modern office space.
